Our Vision
How?
Community Green advocates for green infrastructure. Cities can implement new requirements and incentives to promote green infrastructure. Strategies for achieving this include lobbying for green solutions, public education, recognizing existing green achievements, creating demonstration projects, and Think Tanks to develop new ideas and collaborations.
Community Green fosters green infrastructure in cities across the U.S. and abroad.
Our Strategies
Build demonstration projects
Engage local developers, specifically through community design review meetings
Funding the gap between the cost of green roofs and traditional roofs. We do this by:
demonstrating how city governments can make incentives for green infrastructure work for their city
raising money
Education, including:
Community Gardens
School Garden curriculums
Green roofs for schools
Our Goals
By 2025:
50 largest US cities implement green infrastructure
EPA institutes Green Infrastructure Development Project to assist cities in financing and implementing green infrastructure
